Water Damaging Event in Levittown
This first-floor ceiling shows wetness caused by a leak in a drain line. Unfortunately, the homeowners did not notice the water stain on the ceiling soon enough, and the paint began to bubble on the white ceiling. A SERVPRO WRT water damage restoration technician, certified by the IICRC, scoped the damage and suggested a controlled demolition to remove only non-salvageable sections of the ceiling sheetrock. The work in progress shows the beams and joists alongside the black drain line and a high-hat light fixture. Notice that the openings have been taped shut with painter's tape and poly sheeting to minimize dust circulating to other areas of the home. Once dried, we can spray an antimicrobial agent to inhibit mold growth and then button up the ceiling, "Like it never even happened."
